I am a humble garbage man,
I work hard every day
I take all of your useless junk,
and haul it far away
I throw it in a pile,
for the sun to rot away
It's tough being the garbage man,
until that fateful day

We met him in an area,
we'd never dumped before
Was full of waste like nuclear
and chemical I'm sure
A venus flytrap buried
from the garden down the street
A joint I rolled, passed to my friend,
but dropped it at my feet

It landed in a puddle
that produced an eerie glow
Before my eyes, to my surprise,
this plant started to grow

I put him in a toilet
that I stole from dump site three
I stuck him in my kitchen
up for everyone to see
He sat beside the fridge
because he wanted lots of food
"Relax" he said "It's cool" he said,
"Just smoke this stuff. It's good"

He pointed to a tuft of hair
that grew upon his head
I cut some off and rolled it up
and this is what I said

"He's Robert the Plant. Robert the Plant.
There's nothing he can't. He's Robert the Plant!"

And I'm done
So done

With this I roll,
the sweetest of joints
To which my lighter,
it's flame I will point
With every breath,
my lungs can intake
That sweet sensation,
left numb in its wake
